Telegram allows you to replace your static profile picture with a short looping profile video. This feature works the same way across all devices, whether you are using an Android, iPhone, or Telegram Desktop.
Open the Telegram app, then tap Menu / Settings. Tap your profile photo to open your profile page.
Once the profile page is open, tap your profile picture again and select:
Set New Photo or Video
This option appears on all versions of Telegram.
Choose a video from the gallery/file picker on your device that you would like to set as your profile video.
Telegram supports most common video formats, especially MP4.
Telegram opens a basic editing window where you can:
Trim video length
Zoom in/out
Rotate the frame
Choose a cover photo (the frame shown when video is not playing)
Telegram allows you to select any frame of the video as your custom thumbnail or cover image.
This frame will be displayed as your profile picture during video standby.
Tap Save / Done.
Your profile video now plays for all your contacts, in a continuous, silent loop unless tapped.
